Huntington, NY, where she assisted in the provision of equine-assisted therapy to children with
special needs. After graduating, she relocated to the Washington DC area to obtain her
doctorate at Argosy University’s DC campus. For a brief time, she lived and worked in the
Baltimore, Maryland area before relocating to North Carolina to work in a private practice. Over
the course of her career, Dr. Barry has also become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. For
10+ years, Dr. Barry has worked with the US military soldiers and families stationed at Ft.
Liberty and provided care to their children with special needs. She has provided intensive
outpatient therapy and psychological evaluations to the local population. Now, back to Northern
Virginia, she is excited to be around horses again and offers her skills to the individuals and
families who reside here in the area.
During therapy, Dr. Barry utilizes an integrative, patient-focused approach, to personalize
treatment to the individual, couple and/or family. My treatment style includes the use of
psychodynamic, CBT, DBT, and mindfulness techniques. Treatment is designed specifically for
the child, family, adolescent and adult.
She is committed to identifying an individual's personal strengths and weaknesses in order to
create valuable recommendations and a unique plan for treatment. She strives to provide the
necessary tools and assessments to facilitate the emotional and mental well-being of the
individual.
